Travellers to the UK who reside outside the European Community (EU) can shop at Peter George Banks Jewellers tax-free. The Retail Export scheme allows you to claim a full VAT (Value Added Tax) refund of 20% on any taxable rated goods purchased from our Kendal store. We complete all the paperwork for you without administrative charge. Simply present your receipts and purchases to UK Customs at the port or airport of departure and they will validate your refund form. You then have the choice of handing your stamped form to a refund booth for immediate payment or posting it back to Peter George Banks where we will credit your chosen card or account.

Placing an order

·         To add to your shopping basket or carry on browsing click on the ‘CONTINUE SHOPPING’ button.

All prices quoted on our website are in £GBP and include VAT at the standard rate at point of purchase (currently 20%).


We are pleased to accept orders on-line through our secure server. Alternatively you can order by phone on 01539 722333 or from our Kendal store.


All credit / debit card transactions are subject to validation checks and authorized by the card issuer. Orders will need to be processed with a valid card payment in the name of the registered cardholder. We accept MasterCard, Visa, Delta, Switch, Maestro and Solo.


Please Note: The address for delivery will be the same as the billing address. You will need to ensure the address given for delivery is secure as responsibility for loss or damage of the items passes to the customer at the point of receipt of goods.



Order Processing


Your order is sent directly to our secure purchase order system in store for processing. Once we have received your order and payment, our staff will pick, pack and dispatch the item. We will aim to do this the same day for all orders received into our shop Monday-Saturday, 9.30am – 4pm (excluding bank holidays).




Delivery & Returns





Delivery is charged at £4.50 for each online order, with free postage given on orders over £50.00. Your order will usually be sent using a next day delivery service. Once you have placed an order it will be dispatched the same day or next day depending on the time the order was placed. Please note that if you wish to cancel your order after it has been dispatched, you will be charged for both delivery and collection costs.


If you are unavailable when our delivery partner tries to deliver your order, they will usually try to deliver again the next working day or drop a card in to offer you a collection from a local collection point. If you should refuse delivery of goods, or are not available to accept the delivery on both delivery attempts, we regret you will be required to cover any extra costs incurred.


All quoted delivery prices are for most UK Mainland addresses. Northern Ireland (BT), Isle of Wight (PO30-37), Isle of Man (IM), Scottish Highlands and Orkney Isles (PA, ML, EH, KA, G, KY, PH, DD, AB, IV, KW), Outer Hebrides and the Shetland Isles (HS, ZE) will incur additional charges and may also experience delivery delays; morning, Saturday and “next working day” deliveries are optional and will also incur additional charges.

We are only able to deliver goods to the address on the order.




Cancellation & Returns Policy


If you are unhappy with the goods received you have 7 days after receipt to cancel your order. We require notification of cancellation by letter, fax, email or phone before returning the goods.


We will honor our 7 days money back guarantee providing the goods are returned in their original unworn condition with all packaging and documentation enclosed.


It is the customers’ responsibility to ensure safe delivery of cancelled orders back to Peter George Banks. This will be done at the customers own expense. Refunds are issued on receipt of goods in the original condition and cover the total of goods purchased but we regret does not include the original delivery charge. We are only able to credit the account from which the original purchase is made. A full refund including original postage costs will be given.


Please Note: We are unable to receive any returned earrings due to health and safety reasons. In this case, the order must be cancelled before goods have been shipped.

When you shop with us, our secure server encrypts all of your personal information, including name, address and credit card information. We use SagePay which are an industry leader in secure internet transactions. SagePay are used by thousands of other UK businesses for transaction security.


All transaction information passed between our website and the SagePay Payment System is encrypted using 128-bit SSL certificates. No cardholder information is ever passed unencrypted and all messages from SagePay are signed using MD5 hashing to prevent tampering. You can be completely secure in the knowledge that nothing passed to SagePay can be examined, used or modified by any third parties attempting to gain access to sensitive information.


Once on the SagePay system, all sensitive data is secured using the same internationally recognised 256-bit encryption standards used by, among others, the US Government. The encryption keys are held on state-of-the-art, tamper proof systems in the same family as those used to secure VeriSign's Global Root certificate, making them all but impossible to extract. The data they hold is extremely secure and they are regularly audited by the banks and banking authorities to ensure it remains so.


SagePay has multiple private links into the banking network that are completely separate from the Internet and which do not cross any publicly accessible networks. Any cardholder information sent to the banks and any authorisation message coming back is secure and cannot be tampered with.


No individuals within our company or SagePay are able to decrypt transaction information or cardholder data. Their systems only allow access to our most senior staff and only in extenuating circumstances (such as investigations of Card Fraud by the Police). Your card information is secure even from their own employees because the systems never display the full card numbers, even on administration screens.

These terms and conditions are governed by English law and are subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.


Failure by us to enforce any of these terms and conditions will not affect our right to enforce the rest of these terms and conditions.






The total prices payable will be stipulated at the time you place your order whether or not the order has been acknowledged. We are entitled to make adjustments to the price to take account of any increase in our suppliers’ prices, or the imposition of any taxes or duties, or if due to an error or omission the price published for the goods is wrong whether or not the order has been acknowledged. We will inform you of the correct price and give you the opportunity to cancel the order. All prices are inclusive of VAT but exclusive of delivery charges which will be payable as indicated at the time the order is placed.


From time to time the prices displayed on our website may be different if you are directed to it from a third party website. Purchases at these prices can only be made on our website and by arriving on it through a relevant third party website; these prices will not always be available in-store or over the telephone.


Prices, offers and products are subject to availability and may change before (but not after) we accept your order. If a product becomes unavailable we may offer you an alternative or suggest you visit the store. On occasion, the prices payable and promotions offered in respect of goods advertised on the website may differ from those prices and promotions offered at the same time in-store.
