About Jersey Pearls
Lustre is the name for the shininess of a pearl. We believe that it doesn’t matter if pearls are big, small, white or blue, so long as they have fabulous, iridescent lustre, they will make beautiful pearl jewellery.
We guarantee that our pearls have ‘Excellent Lustre’, this is the highest level attainable in the pearl grading system used by the Gemological Institute of America, the world’s foremost authority in gemstone grading.
One of the beauties of working with pearls is that they’re grown by living oysters and mussels rather than machines, this results in wonderfully diverse harvests, producing pearls in a multitude of shapes, sizes and colours. However this does also mean that a large number of pearls are flawed, with big cracks or ugly brown lumps.
We guarantee that none of our pearls will have these unsightly blemishes.
We individually knot all of our strung pearl jewellery. This protects the pearls from rubbing together which would otherwise scratch them. It also ensures that only one pearl can be lost if the silk breaks.
We always string our pearls on silk because it’s strong and the knots remain tight for longer than polyester thread.
As a part of our guarantee we offer to restring our silk strung pieces for free after two years. This is around the time that silk can become stretched if the pearls have been worn regularly and so if you send them to us after two years and the pearls need restringing our workshop will carry out the work for free.
Delivery is free for orders over £50 We charge £2.95 for orders under £50. Your order will usually be sent using a next day delivery service. Once you have placed an order it will be dispatched the same day or next day depending on the time the order was placed. Please note that if you wish to cancel your order after it has been dispatched, you will be charged for both delivery and collection costs. If you are unavailable when our delivery partner tries to deliver your order, they will usually try to deliver again the next working day or drop a card in to offer you a collection from a local collection point. If you should refuse delivery of goods, or are not available to accept the delivery on both delivery attempts, we regret you will be required to cover any extra costs incurred
How can I pay?
We process all major credit and debit cards. You can pay online or by phone. If you wish to purchase using cash or vouchers, we welcome you to do so in our Kendal store. You can pay with paypal and Amazon Checkout. Our Peter George Banks Layaway Service enables you to choose exceptionally fine jewellery for unique moments and have them set aside for a small deposit.

The products you purchase and your billing and delivery details are securely saved on our database, collected lawfully and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.
